  1. HISTORY
Stanley Government Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India was officially established in 1938 and is one of the oldest centres of excellence in surgery with more than 200 years of history in it's annals, even before the Independence era.
The prestigious department of general surgery is renowned to have produced some of the best and eminent surgeons in the world and continues forward this great service.
The  Department of General Surgery, Stanley medical college with an eight storey surgical complex is equipped to perform 20 surgeries simultaneously. It also has a state of the art surgical zero delay Ward for handling trauma and surgical emergencies and an advanced intensive Care unit.
